Let your cereal go soft and work its magic—infusing the milk with that iconic green hue and the sweet, nostalgic taste of cereal milk. This Lucky Charms Cereal Milkshake, inspired by the classic Shamrock Shake, blends steeped cereal, vanilla ice cream, and extra green marshmallows for a thick, creamy treat. Whether you’re celebrating something festive or just craving a little nostalgia in a glass, this cereal milkshake is pure magic in every sip!

Usually, when I eat a bowl of cereal, I rush to maintain the perfect balance of milk and cereal—not too soft or soggy, with just enough crisp texture, and the milk still cold. But the real prize comes at the end: that distinct sweetness and lingering flavor in the leftover milk. Like the end of the rainbow, the last sip is a golden reward.

Rather than wasting that deliciously sweet, cereal-steeped milk, this Lucky Charms Shamrock-Inspired Cereal Milkshake shares the same vibrant green hue—but not from minty green ice cream! For this recipe, I used the special edition Lucky Charms box with extra green marshmallows, leaving behind a pure, bold green color. If it’s not the time of year for the green milk box, simply pick out as many green marshmallows as you can from the standard box to recreate that perfect shade!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Milk *See Notes
  • 1 cup Lucky Charms Cereal *Green Milk Edition
  • 2 tablespoon Marshmallow Cream
  • 2-3 scoops Vanilla Ice Cream *See Notes

Toppings

  • Lucky Charms Cereal
  • Marshmallow Cream
  • Whipped Cream

Instructions

  • Add one cup of Milk over one cup of lucky charms cereal in a bowl, cover and leave in the fridge for 30 minutes to an hour to steep the milk.
  • Once the milk has turned green, filter out most of the cereal and marshmallows, separating the green milk into another bowl. Set aside the softened cereal and marshmallows for later use.
  • Add the green milk to a blender, starting with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream. Blend, adding more ice cream and milk as needed to reach your desired milkshake consistency. For a stronger cereal milk flavor and extra color from the marshmallows, add some (or all) of the softened cereal from step one. Blend until smooth.
  • Prepare your glass by coating the rim with marshmallow cream. Then, add some cereal and Lucky Charms marshmallows around the rim for a fun, festive touch.
  • Add the milkshake to the glass, top with whipped cream, and add some crushed cereal over top. Drizzle with some marshmallow cream and enjoy!

Notes

-More or less milk to desired consistency.
-More or less ice cream to desired consistency.
