This Azalea Drink Recipe is a cleaner, more balanced version of the classic Masters drink, made with real ingredients and no artificial dyes. It’s the kind of refreshing, feel good drink you’ll want on repeat all spring.

Every spring, the Masters takes place at Augusta National in Georgia, and one of the things it’s most known for is how the course looks. It was designed to feel like a spring garden, and when everything is in bloom, you get these soft washes of pink from the azalea bushes all throughout the course.

As you’re watching, whether you’re there or just seeing it on TV, that color becomes part of the whole experience. Over time, the azalea flower and the tournament became tied together, and this drink is meant to reflect that same feeling. Light, refreshing, and just a little bit special.

There’s also a stretch of the course called Amen Corner, which includes holes 11, 12, and 13. Hole 13 is actually named Azalea, which makes this whole thing feel even more fitting. And if you’re Italian, 13 is considered a lucky number, so we’ll take that.

They say you might need a prayer to get through Amen Corner, but this drink? You’ve got it mastered.

This Azalea drink is light, refreshing, and easy to sip, especially when you’re in the mood for something pink and a little playful. It has that same feel-good, warm weather vibe. If you love drinks like this, there are a few others on the site that fit right in, including the Guava Sunrise Colada and the Spicy Strawberry Guava Margarita Mocktail.

🌸 How to Make an Azalea Drink

This version comes together quickly and doesn’t need anything complicated.

Start by adding lemonade, fresh lemon juice, coconut water, and a tiny drop of apple cider vinegar to a shaker with ice. Give it a quick, gentle shake just to chill and combine.

Fill your glasses with crushed ice, pour over your pomegranate honey mixture. Strain the drink from the mixer slowly over the top, and garnish with a lemon slice.

❓What Is an Azalea Drink

An azalea drink is a classic Masters-inspired cocktail made with lemonade, vodka, and grenadine, known for its bright pink color and easy, refreshing feel. It’s tied to the Masters Tournament at Augusta National, where azaleas are in full bloom every spring, which is exactly where the drink gets its name and look.

Traditionally, it leans sweet and simple, almost like a spiked pink lemonade. This version keeps that same idea but uses real citrus and pomegranate instead of overly sweet syrups, so it tastes cleaner, more balanced, and a little more grown-up.

A Real Ingredient Azalea (No Artificial Coloring)

The classic azalea gets its bright pink color from grenadine, which can be overly sweet and artificially colored.

This version keeps the same idea, just made cleaner. We use pomegranate for natural color and depth, plus fresh lemon to keep it balanced and bright.

No artificial dyes. No syrupy shortcuts. Just a clean, Realest Real azalea.

✨ Why This Version Works

This version works because it’s balanced. The lemonade keeps it familiar, fresh lemon brightens everything, and the pomegranate adds depth without making it overly sweet.

The coconut water gives it a little body so it doesn’t feel like straight juice, and that tiny drop of apple cider vinegar brings just enough edge to round it out. You don’t taste it, but you notice the difference.

It still has that easy, refreshing feel of a classic azalea, just made cleaner and a little more put together.

⛳ Masters-Inspired Azalea Drink

This azalea drink recipe is inspired by the classic Masters drink served each spring at Augusta National, where the course is surrounded by blooming azaleas. The soft pink color and light, refreshing feel are meant to reflect that setting.

This version keeps that same idea, just made a little cleaner. It’s still the perfect warm-weather drink to sip while watching the tournament or hosting, with a balanced citrus base and a natural pomegranate finish instead of overly sweet syrups. It’s simple, fresh, and an easy way to bring that Masters-inspired feel home.

🍹 Azalea Mocktail Bar (Easy Setup)

If you’re hosting, this azalea drink recipe is perfect for a simple, self-serve setup.

Add the full drink mixture to a large pitcher so it’s ready to pour, then place your honey pomegranate mixture in a smaller pitcher or bowl with a spoon or ladle so guests can add a little extra to their liking. Set out a bowl of crushed ice, lemon slices, and any toppings you like.

For a Masters-inspired setup, you can use small flag picks like we did here. If you’re leaning more garden party, swap in edible flowers or even a simple floral toothpick for that same soft, spring feel.

It’s easy, it looks good, and everyone gets to make it exactly how they like it.

What Does an Azalea Drink Taste Like?

A traditional azalea drink tastes like a light, slightly sweet pink lemonade with a smooth finish from the vodka. The grenadine adds that familiar fruity sweetness and bright color, so overall it’s easy to drink, refreshing, and leans on the sweeter side.

This version keeps that same citrusy base but is a little more balanced. The pomegranate adds a deeper, slightly tart note, the coconut water softens everything, and that tiny drop of apple cider vinegar gives it just enough edge to make it feel more like a real drink.

Mocktail Recipes & Mindful Drinking

What I love about mocktails like this is that they don’t feel like a substitute. They actually bring something to the glass. You still get that bright citrus, soft color, and a balanced, refreshing finish that feels a little more intentional.

If you’re looking for more drinks like this, I have a few favorites to try next: Ruby Red Paloma Mocktail, Refreshing Cucumber Gimlet, or our Spicy Hot Honey Peach Margarita Mocktail. Each one is proof that skipping alcohol can still feel like an upgrade.

🌿 A Small Bonus: Real Ingredients That Feel Good

This isn’t meant to be a “health drink,” but using real ingredients does make a difference.

The pomegranate adds natural antioxidants, the coconut water brings a little hydration, and even that tiny drop of apple cider vinegar helps round everything out. It’s still a fun, refreshing drink, just made in a way that feels a little better going in.

🍸 Azalea Cocktail Version

If you want to turn this into a classic azalea cocktail, it’s an easy swap. Just add 1 to 1½ oz vodka per drink to your glass or shaker before mixing, and everything else stays the same.

It keeps that same bright citrus and pomegranate balance, just with a smoother finish. Start light and adjust to your taste so it stays refreshing and doesn’t lose that clean, easy feel.
